Canadian Certified Pedorthists C. Ped (C.) are one of the few healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and muscle and joint function.
With specialized education and training in custom-made orthotics and footwear, Canadian Certified Pedorthists help to alleviate pain, abnormalities, and debilitating conditions of the lower limbs and feet.
As proud members of patients’ healthcare teams, Canadian Certified Pedorthists work with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers. The goal of every Canadian Certified Pedorthist is to help patients achieve and maintain proper foot care and lower limb health so they can live healthy, active lives.
To become a C. Ped (C) you must first complete a university degree in Kinesiology or a similar field in the STEM field that includes the pre-requisite courses
. After your undergraduate is complete, candidates will need to apply to the Diploma in Pedorthics program at Western University. This program is structured into two categories in-class, which is online, and practicums, which are in person work terms.
